Harley Davidson announced today the planned volume reduction and restructuring actions are expected to result in the elimination of about 1,100 jobs over 2009 and 2010, including about 800 hourly production positions and about 300 non-production, primarily salaried positions. About 70 percent of the workforce reduction is expected to occur in 2009. The precipitous job reduction is set to only effect the backbone of the company. With another "Great depression" on the way, what does the consumer have to look forward to? Circuit City, is the answer. Today Circuit City announced it has failed the 60 year old business. 34,000 employees of Circuit City will now join the ranks of the unemployed.
