Call it another anti- google article, or call it a master piece. We focus a lot of our attention on corporations that deliberately steal, deceive, and downright rip off consumers. Today we would like to add to this list. Corporations that deceive other corporations that in return effect you as the consumer, enter the Droid Versus Android battle.

The Droid was released in November of 2009. The hype however, started back in 2008. Websites like engadget.com were so eager write what they believe is the next best phone. Chris Ziegler comments “Google’s now gifted the world with a bunch of changes it had been developing in secrecy in a private branch called “cupcake.”” Chris, we would like to know what you are going to tell your readers now that google has Jumped software ship, and designed its own phone once again using HTC as a developer.

In this corner is the Nexus. Using a similar platform as the droid, but only newer. The Nexus was released only two months later than the droid. The features of these two phones are very close. We will not delve into the features, as the sole reason behind this article is to show you the consumer, these two companies are bending each other over, why wouldn’t they do it to the consumer too.

Confusion just seems to keep growing. HTC is the designer for this phone, but yet they still are manufacturing the droid for Verizon. Well HTC is not going to cut its own cord, at least not until Google tells them to.

So here we have HTC and Google in a partnership with Motorola who supplies Verizon. Now Motorola looks like they may be getting the boot, at least for quality software updates. Sure the droid will continue to get software improvements, but will the updates be as sleek as Google’s Nexus?

If you are in need of a new phone, and you want to have the latest and greatest gadget, then we suggest you stick with the trusty Iphone. We do not condone Google’s business practice when it comes to anything web related, and now we will not trust them in the telecommunication world.

This article is written very poorly. First of all it states that Verizon’s droid is manufactured by HTC which is wrong, the Droid Eris is manufactured by HTC, while the Droid is manufactured by Motorola. Secondly, google has stated that the motorola droid will receive the android 2.1 update very soon. This article will make people believe that the droid will never get this update which is flat out wrong. Please check your facts before posting a negative article that will supposedly “help” consumers, while actually will confusing them more. Also I can’t believe that a supposed corporate abuse website would recommend the iPhone over an open-source device such as an andoid phone, this should be completely against their principles.

    Wow Joe,
The fact is the Droid was DESIGNED by Motorola, not MANUFACTURED. seconed if you take googles “promise” as fact, than you will surely fail your high school paper class. Lastly open source software is easier to attack, where as proprietary software must promptly be patched for security or it voids the warranty. Joe try again someday little buddy.

First of all the droid is manufactured by motorola. Secondly, that was not the point in the first place. The point was that the article clealy says “HTC is the designer for this phone, but yet they still are manufacturing the droid for Verizon.” which is not true at all. Also open source software is not easier to attack. In fact holes in open source software get patched much quicker because there are literally thousands on people working on the software and patches together. And lastly, I don’t know where you found out that if proprietary software is not patched promptly it voids your warranty. Just look at microsoft, if that were the case there would be no warranties left for any of their devices. Also I have never heard of a paper class? Composition Class yes, paper class no.
