What the RIAA fails to understand is “Moore’s Law” applies to downloads also. As the battle rages on against P2P sites like piratebay. Administrators of thepiratebay have launched new softaware to curtail users from being tracked, “IPREDator is a network service that makes people online more anonymous using a VPN.” So what is the RIAA doing about this? They are infecting President Obama’s Dept. of Justice cabinet. Tom Perrelli was recently appointed as the 18th Associate Attorney General of the United States. In light of our current economic situation, we doubt president Obama is going to let capo Perrelli go after little old lady’s because the RIAA believes they might have downloaded some Bee Gees album.

“President Obama is continuing to fill the senior ranks of the U.S. Department of Justice with the copyright industry’s favorite lawyers.
Donald Verrilli announced Wednesday that he had been named associate deputy attorney general. Verrilli is the lawyer who pulled the plug on Grokster, sued Google on behalf of Viacom, and represented the Recording Industry Association of America against a Minnesota woman named Jammie Thomas who’s accused of

illicit file sharing.” to read more. For a more articulated article, check out gizmodo.

Despite what their short comings, the RIAA is fighting their battle the hard way. Let’s just say IF they could achieve shutting down this new generation of P2P, another generation would just pop up somewhere else. Furthermore, PC users can extract mp3’s and media from legit online sources, but that is a whole other issue in it’s own.

So the golden question, why is the RIAA still fighting this battle? Why are they not trying to capitalize on the technology in place, since we know it’s all about money with them anyways.
